Who are we

Alaw Griffiths
Wedding & Events Manager

Alaw has worked in events organising, public relations and marketing for over ten years. She has always had a passion for planning and organising celebrations, and likes nothing more than seeing her own extensive family coming together and enjoying themselves.

When she was organising her own wedding with over 200 guests, she realised that creating such a large and important day could be stressful, especially with the pressures of full-time work, family, and everyday life. She founded Calon Wedding Planning to help couples enjoy the fun and minimize the stress of planning their special day.

Her professional experience includes working for a wide variety of businesses and institutions such as communications consultancy Momentwm, Theatr Felinfach and the Welsh Books Council. She has organised major events such as the Aberystwyth Wedding Show and led events organisation at Cardigan Castle, Tynrhyd Retreat and the National Library of Wales.

She currently acts as a consultant for the S4C Programme Priodas Pum Mil. She has also trained with the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners.
In her spare time, Alaw loves spending time with her husband and two small children and their friends.

Dil Lewis
Weddings and Events Creative Assistant

A qualified dressmaker, Dil knows the fashion industry from the bottom upwards having started as an alterations hand in Browns of Chester.

She then moved on to become a sample hand for Welsh fashion designer Pauline Wynne Jones, supplying directly to some of the biggest names on both sides of the Atlantic.

She had a career break to raise a family and then went to university where she graduated with an honours degree in design through the medium of glass.

Throughout her career she has combined a flair for design with the practical knowledge of how to bring ideas to life. These creative and practical skills are now available to you for one of the most important days of your life.
